Man!!!!! You are in business!!!! That is great, I must to confess that there are many spaces I had not originally consider (thought about)! I will do my diagram and my program so I can have some base to really “see” your work with more informed eyes! Gus
David, I just got back on to check and see what people have before I head in for the night and I checked out your program. You and I have very similar numbers which I guess is a good thing, maybe bad if we are heading in the wrong direction! :-) You have put in some rooms I didn’t think about. Laundry! I know I wanted that the last few days in Boston. There were certain types of clothes I ran out of and wished I had extras of. Keep up the good work. I might have a few more comments in the AM after I look at it even closer.
Waz up brother? long time no talk, right! It is still warm in South Florida, alright I'll quit with that. We'll warm up with a nice lager in Beantown.
Nice thoughtout program and you seem to hinder on the fact that this facility will have to go vertical. As you know the fleas come with the dog and we will need to include other life safety items involved with that, not to mention domestic pumps and so on. I would like to question the calculation of the classrooms vs. other spaces, how come the classrooms are per occupant and the others are not? I think for myself I am inclined to presenting the calculation in terms of paint to paint areas, however quickly referring to the LS code. I mentioned in other blogs that we should be planning for the impact of incorporating green strategies into the program. Maybe Werner could confirm that, but if this building facility is going to have green design strategies, then we need to incorporate Recycling rooms, trash rooms, pump rooms and so on. I think green strategies will also impact things like the laundry room, what if instead we go across the street to the laundrymat? Neighborhood connectivity and therefore saving energy, water and perhaps interacting with the urban fabric.
Hi everyone, Thank you for the information so far. I am currently adding and changing the program as I had another client meeting this morning! By the way, we are out of single digits and should be in the 40’s this weekend, get out the shorts!
Eddie you make a good point on the neighborhood laundry, I will have to find out where the closes one is once a site is determined. I want to at least have a "placeholder/reminder" on my program so laundry is easily accessible as the time available to run blocks away for several hours would be time not spent in studio. I thought if there is one on site, then it can be used while at studio or wherever. Mechanical/pumps are in my efficiencies (which I have refined this morning) and will be refined more as we learn more in Arch Tech!
