I really like the organization of building and function on your site. I like that you have also divided the exhibit hall out from the main building to give it more public importance. I am concerned about the solar gain you will have from all the south glazing. I wonder if the top level will need a canopy to shade the space?
Obviously you are working on your site plan more as we discussed at the intensive. How can the exhibit hall and main entry get focus and importance by your landscaping design? Can the paths you drew on the site plan refocus to the entrances? I'll check back later for future updates
• Kevin (site): You need to consider what the spaces you created are. Can tell they are considered but they need to be studied. What happens in these spaces? Who uses them, etc? • Kurt (structure): You need to stress your structural system more. It allows you to open up. • Eric: What happens in the elbow? Does that connection have a functional purpose? Can it be celebrated? Gathering space for the students? • Gerry: You need to draw your ideas, leverage your drawings with diagrams. • Gerry: Why wouldn’t you put your residence up top? It seems inverted. You can solve day lighting by side lighting, you have narrow spaces. • Gerry: Your stepped wall works well in the front.
